ArmInfo.The leader of the Veto movement, writer Narek Malyan was released after a year of imprisonment.
"On the day of my imprisonment, Artsakh was ours. Now that I am out, I feel like I have experienced that loss again. Prison is quite an interesting place to think. I think it is time for action now," Malyan told journalists at the gates of the penitentiary institution.
He also noted that serious events are expected in the region, especially in Armenia.
Public figure Narek Malyan was sentenced to 1 year of imprisonment on April 12 of this year. However, taking into account the time spent in prison, this term was reduced to 5 months and 7 days. In addition, Malyan was ordered to pay 108 and 198 thousand drams for procedural costs.
Malyan was charged with public calls aimed at promoting hatred towards a group of people based on their political views. The leader of the Veto movement, writer Narek Malyan, was detained on September 20, 2023. On September 22, Malyan was arrested by a court decision. His lawyers called the case a legal disgrace and a settling of political scores.
