ArmInfo. This day will remain in our memories as the day when, after ten months of blockade, and then four months of total siege, the Azerbaijani side resorted to military aggression, as a result of which we had victims and injured.
Today we pay tribute to our victims, who defended our homeland and their families at the cost of their lives. This was stated by Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan in an interview with journalists on September 19 at the Yerablur military pantheon.
In connection with the anniversary of the occupation of Artsakh by Azerbaijan and the deportation of the entire Armenian population, representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of the Republic of Artsakh, headed by President Samvel Shahramanyan, visited the Yerablur military pantheon and laid flowers, paying tribute to all compatriots who died for Artsakh.
"As a result of the September events - military actions, the explosion of a fuel depot - hundreds of people died, received various injuries, which had very serious consequences for us. As a result of military actions, our population was forced to leave their homeland. We will always remember the names of those dedicated people who, at the cost of their lives, defended our homeland, created the opportunity for more than 100,000 people to be able to get out of the blockade, to avoid more difficult, more difficult consequences for us," the President of Artsakh noted.
Touching upon various odious statements by representatives of the Armenian authorities, including the speaker of the parliament, regarding the Republic of Artsakh and the people of Artsakh, Samvel Shahramanyan said: "It is very painful for me to hear such statements, including from high-ranking officials who believe that we, the people of Artsakh, are guests in Armenia, who believe that the recognition of Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan is a victory for Armenia. I doubt that all members of the government share this position and the people of Armenia think so. I have nothing to say to these people, this question should be addressed to the people who formed the government in Armenia." At the same time, he did not comment on the issue of the future building of the Artsakh representative office in Yerevan, advising to address this issue to the authorized bodies.
Touching upon yesterday's statement by the National Security Service of Armenia about the alleged involvement of Artsakh residents in organizing a coup d'etat in the country, Shakhramanyan drew attention to the fact that terror reigns in the information field of Armenia today. In this regard, he noted the importance of regulating the activities of the information field, journalists, and information disseminated in social networks in the Republic of Armenia. Taking the opportunity, the President of Artsakh addressed all law enforcement agencies of Armenia, including the prosecutor's office, as well as the parliament, calling on them to initiate legislative changes that will allow everyone living in the Republic to be protected. Touching upon various types of reports of crimes, he called on law enforcement agencies to properly investigate all such reports and, if confirmed, give them an appropriate legal assessment. In conclusion, he recalled that the Republic of Artsakh has not been abolished from a legal point of view.
