ArmInfo.The peace treaty should resolve the matter of the return of captives, Armenian Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on September 18 at the Global Armenian Summit, answering the question about whether the release of prisoners was part of the peace agreement.

 <The perceptions of the peace treaty, sometimes some comments being made in Azerbaijan, some  comments voiced in Armenia, appear to be mirror images, because in  Armenia there is an opinion that the peace treaty should resolve all  possible issues. Similarly in Azerbaijan, there is also an opinion  that the peace treaty should resolve all possible issues,>  he noted.   At the same time, he wonders whether mentioning this issue in the  peace treaty will actually resolve it?

<In my opinion, it is the peace treaty that should resolve that  issue, regardless of whether it is written there literally or not. A  peace treaty means a different atmosphere and different relations. We  say that 80 percent of the peace treaty has been agreed upon, we say,  let's sign what has been agreed upon and move on to the rest, which  has not been agreed upon. And there is another perspective that  insists on not signing the agreement until all articles are agreed  upon. Excuse me, then how many articles should this treaty contain?>  Armenian Prime Minister asks.

Note that the RA opposition states that a peace treaty with Baku  would be meaningless if it does not address the liberation of the  occupied territories of sovereign Armenia, as well as the return of  Armenian prisoners from Azerbaijan.
