ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan does not believe that visa liberalization will result in significant emigration from Armenia. He explained that the current <emigration sentiments> in the republic are due to a sense of uncertainty about the future.
<Negotiations on visa liberalization with the EU have officially started, marking a crucial political agenda. Prior to starting the negotiations, we conducted research to determine the extent to which emigration rates increased in other countries following the liberalization of the visa regime. For example, in Georgia, which is close to us, there was no large emigration>, Pashinyan said on September 18 at the Global Armenian Summit.
On the contrary, when people record that they have a lot of opportunities to come and go freely, then the desire to go and stay decreases even more, the RA Prime Minister added. He noted that now there are thousands of people in the EU and the US who do not return to Armenia because they got there with difficulty, and if they return, they will not be able to go anymore. <The constant fear of opening our borders and the ongoing suffering from the consequences of closing them ... If we have a project that unites us as a state and as a society, these problems will not exist>, Nikol Pashinyan concluded.
