ArmInfo.Armenian citizens living in Georgia can now enter the territory of the Republic of Armenia through the Bavra checkpoint in their own cars with Georgian license plates, only needing to present a residence permit. This was reported by Vahe Sargsyan, the editor of Yerkir.am, who mentioned that from September 17, Armenian citizens are no longer required to pay a deposit.
At the same time, he explained that this procedure is only valid at the Bavra-Ninotsminda checkpoint (Samtskhe-Javakheti region, predominantly populated by Armenians - ed.). "We also requested to establish a reasonable length of stay in Armenia of at least one month. However, the State Revenue Committee (SRC) decided on a period of 1 year, which is the same as for citizens of Georgia," Vahe Sargsyan added. He noted that the SRC responded positively to their request. As of September 16, a corresponding form was sent to the Bavra checkpoint, allowing them to cross the border without any issues from September 17 by presenting a residence permit along with a passport.
