Andranik Tevanyan: We are ready to be friends with everyone, but  neither in opposition to nor at the expense of Russia

The "Mother Armenia" faction of the Yerevan City Hall opposes the idea of Armenia being  used as a tool to counter Russia.This stance was expressed by Andranik Tevanyan, the leader of the "Mother Armenia" opposition faction in the Yerevan Council of Elders, during a visit to the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).  

"We are ready to be friends with  everyone, but not at the expense of Russia and, especially, not  against it.  With this visit, we also want to show that we support  the development of Armenian-Russian relations and the strengthening  of friendship and allied relations between Russia and Armenia,"  Tevanyan added.

The faction's press service reported that the visit, organized at the  local Armenian community's initiative, is intended to be introductory  and humanitarian in nature. During the visit, the leader of the  opposition faction met with local parliamentarians. It should be  noted that since the "velvet revolution" of 2018, Armenian-Russian  relations have been steadily deteriorating. Contacts between various  departments, including foreign policy, have been minimized. Moscow  has repeatedly accused the "Collective West" of attempting to  distance Armenia from Russia.
