ArmInfo.Armenia is closely following the processes taking place in France. This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at a joint press conference with French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Stephane Sejourne on September 16 in response to a question about whether Yerevan is following the internal political processes in the French Republic.
"We are confident that the French people and political forces always have the wisdom that will allow them to find solutions that are in line with the principles of democracy. And as long as these decisions are in line with the democratic criteria that France has proclaimed and infected the whole world with them - freedom, equality and fraternity, we can always be calm. And I am confident that all processes in France will proceed in this vein," Mirzoyan concluded.
In turn, Sejourne noted that his visit to Armenia was approved by both the President and the Prime Minister of the country, which testifies to the commitment to continue the state policy. "There will be no change in our proclaimed principles. The continuity of our relations and support will be preserved. I believe that no one will notice changes in the principles proclaimed by our state, such as democracy, friendship and peace. Perhaps the officials in the highest echelons of power will change, but our commitment to bilateral relations based on friendship will not change," Mr Sejourne stated.
