ArmInfo.Armenian schoolchildren took part in the first international Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence (AI), which was held from September 8 to 12 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia (MECS).
90 students from 25 countries took part in the Olympiad. According to the department, the bronze medal from the Armenian team was awarded to Gevorg Grigoryan, a pupil of the Foton Gymnasium, and certificates of commendation were received by Eduard Arzumanyan and Sevak Yegoryan, students of the A. Shahinyan Physics and Mathematics Specialized School.
According to the source, the Armenian team was led by Artur Avagyan, Executive Director of the Educational and Research Center for Information Technologies at Yerevan State University, and Mher Yerznkyan, an artificial intelligence engineer at Buymie.
