ArmInfo. It is impossible to solve national problems with this government, and if we must follow the direction it leads us, it is better to do nothing. Aram Sargsyan, the leader of the Democratic Party of Armenia and coordinator of the "Miasin" movement, made this statement during a protest rally in front of the RA Government building, demanding that the issue of forcibly displaced Artsakh be included in the international agenda.
According to Sargsyan, the "Miasin" movement will fight for the resignation of the government and the solution of national problems, that he believes have been ignored by Pashinyan. "We will fight both through the streets and other possible political methods. We must continue our actions until we see results," he emphasized.
Sargsyan also criticized Pashinyan's position on the return of representatives from the so-called "community of western Azerbaijan" to Armenia, noting that the government is not making any effort to address issues related to Artsakh. "Armenians in Artsakh lived in their ancestral land, in their homes. Therefore, we believe that the present government has a responsibility to raise the issue of Artsakh on the global stage. The issue of prisoners, among other things, should be prioritized on the international agenda," Sargsyan said,
He also expressed the opinion that the peace promised by the current authorities can only be real when Armenia is strong enough. "Peace is not just a piece of paper that can be torn up and thrown away. Peace is real only when you are strong and when the enemy knows that he will receive a worthy response. Only under such conditions can this peace be ensured today," he said. Sargsyan also critisized the participation of the current government representatives in the international COP29 forum in Baku. "He (referring to Pashinyan) will go there with his head down and do as he is told. We are certain that he will not demand anything from Azerbaijan. This government lacks both the political will and the stance to protect our national interests," Sargsyan concluded.
