ArmInfo. Yerevan Book Fest announced the best writers of the year. The awards ceremony for the winners in the categories of , , and was traditionally held during the final day of the festival.
A total of 250 applications were submitted by Armenian authors to participate in the competition, but the jury selected only 185 works. The winners were chosen through blind reading. The jury was unaware of the authors' identities as they read and evaluated the submissions up until the last moment
In particular, Hrachya Simonyan was recognized as the best in the Prose nomination, and a special prize in the same category was awarded to Aram Avetis (jury: Alvard Semirjyan, Ani Hovnanyan, Arkmenik Nikoghosyan, Siranush Dvoyan and Susanna Harutyunyan); in the Poetry nomination - Razmik Grigoryan (jury: Arpi Voskanyan, Hakob Movses, Hasmik Simonyan, Henrik Edoyan and Nerses Atabekyan). For the Drama nomination - Vahagn Dabaryan (jury: Anahit Aramuni Keshishyan, Gevorg Sahakyan, Ruben Babayan, Sate Khachatryan and Tatev Hovakimyan); in the nomination - Mariam Hergnyan (jury: Narine Gizhlaryan, Ruzan Tonoyan, Sabet Oganesyan, Vanuhi Baghramyan and Varduhi Baloyan).
To note that the festival is being held in Armenia for the 7th time. This year the event took place from September 6 to 8 with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and was organized in cooperation with the Museum of Literature and Art named after E. Charents and the public organization . The main sponsor of the festival is the Yerevan Municipality.
