ArmInfo. The parliamentary commission investigating the circumstances of the 44-day war has completed its work, its conclusion is ready. This was stated by the head of the parliamentary Commission on Defense and Security, MP of the ruling Civil Contract faction Andranik Kocharyan on the air of PTA.
According to him, in October, as the head of this commission, he will address a letter to the speaker of parliament to convene a closed meeting, during which the conclusion will be presented and its confidentiality status will be decided. The report consists of several hundred pages, Kocharyan noted.
As the head of the commission assured, the public will definitely find out who is to blame for the defeat. At the same time, as he pointed out, <these reasons are heterogeneous and multi-layered>.
<Everything that could be recorded is indicated in the conclusion. If something could not be recorded, then the mechanisms were indicated with the help of which the relevant bodies can conduct more in-depth studies>, the parliamentarian said.
The public will be able to see only part of the commission's report, as it contains classified information that will take years to declassify. In particular, this concerns numerous issues related to <intelligence, decision- making, and the foreign policy bloc>, the pro-government deputy summed up. Let us recall that the commission was created in February 2022 at the initiative of the ruling majority (the Civil Contract faction).
As part of the commission's activities, deputies invited those responsible for the country's defense and foreign policy in the period before and during the 2020 war to its meetings. On May 3, 2023, the commission's activities were extended.
