ArmInfo. During the ceremonial event organized at the Paris City Hall, the Ambassador of Armenia to France Hasmik Tolmajian presented the Order of Friendship to Vice-Mayor of Paris Arnaud Ngatcha.
This award was bestowed by the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia for his significant contribution to the strengthening and development of Armenian- French friendly ties. As reported by the press service of the Armenian Embassy in France, the Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo congratulated Arnaud Ngatcha on receiving this high state award of the Republic of Armenia, emphasizing the special ties between Armenia and Paris, confirming that the French capital has always stood by Armenia and the Armenian people and will continue to do so. In her speech, Tolmadjian emphasized that awarding the Deputy Mayor with the "Order of Friendship" expresses gratitude to all of Paris for its sincere friendship with Armenia and the Armenian people.
She also thanked Mayor Hidalgo and members of the Paris City Council for their unconditional support and full solidarity with Armenia. She expressed gratitude for the "Esplanade of Armenia" in the center of Paris, the opening of Charles Aznavour Park on the square to mark the 100th anniversary of Charles Aznavour's birth, and especially for the resolutions and humanitarian initiatives adopted since 2020 in support of the peoples of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Deputy Mayor of Paris expressed his great honor and pride in receiving this high award from the President of the Republic of Armenia. He emphasized that as Deputy Mayor of Paris for Foreign Affairs, under the leadership of Mayor Hidalgo, he will continue to contribute to the strengthening of relations and cooperation between Paris and Armenia with the same enthusiasm, conviction and commitment. At the end of the award ceremony, the national anthems of Armenia and France were played. The event was attended by the Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, parliamentarians, foreign ambassadors and diplomats accredited in France, deputy mayors of Paris, mayors of other cities near Paris, prominent public and cultural figures, and representatives of the Armenian community.
