ArmInfo. Konstantin Zatulin, a member of the State Duma of Russia from the Sochi district, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Public Relations, congratulated former Azerbaijani Ambassador Polad Bulbul- oglu on the start of his parliamentary activity and recalled the occupation of Artsakh by Azerbaijan.
In his address, Zatulin drew attention to the fact that former Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia, and now member of the Azerbaijani parliament from Shusha and Nagorno-Karabakh Polad Bulbul-oglu began his parliamentary activity by writing a complaint against him to the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia. "The reason: my sympathy for the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, who all left their homes and became refugees in 2023. This sympathy is called "congratulations" and "provocation" by the Mejlis deputy and the Azerbaijani media that echo him, although I have no one to congratulate on such an ending to the modern Karabakh tragedy, not only in Armenia, but also in Azerbaijan," the Russian deputy noted.
At the same time, he noted that everyone chooses for themselves where to start a new stage in their life. "It is not surprising to me that Polad Bulbul-oglu, like a number of politicians, public figures and journalists of Azerbaijan, continue to practice the genre of denunciation, public or unadvertised, of the one whom they consider their opponent in Russia. Over the years, I have become accustomed to this. As well as to the fact that one cannot count on any objectivity on their part. No sympathy is shown in Azerbaijan today not only to the former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh - their partners in long-term negotiations, but also to the rest of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, called nothing less than "terrorists" and "separatists". Well, that's a pity. By the way: personally, since my election as a deputy of the First State Duma, I have repeatedly spoken out in favor of a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and have always spoken out in favor of the return to Azerbaijan of the areas along the perimeter of the NKR captured during the military operations in the 90s, although "Not all of my Armenian friends liked it," the Russian politician recalled.
At the same time, he drew attention to a curious fact. According to Zatulin, "the gentlemen from Baku over the past few years have not abandoned in their appeals to the Russian leadership touching attempts to teach him what Russian interests and the policy of "United Russia" should be in order to finally shut the mouth of the State Duma deputy." "According to my observations, Heydar Aliyev did not allow himself such stupidity," the politician summed up.
