Hayakve: Occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh is a crime against humanity

ArmInfo.The occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and its de- Armenization by Azerbaijan is a serious  crime against humanity, as stated by the opposition initiative "Hayakve" ("Armenian Referendum").

 The statement distributed by the  initiative reaffirms a commitment to the fundamental idea of  freedom  for Karabakh and the unity of the Armenian people. It strongly  condemns the policy pursued by the Armenian authorities to abandon  Karabakh and pit it against the sovereignty of the Republic of  Armenia.  "33 years ago today, the elected deputies of the people of  Karabakh, who were fighting for a dignified life in their homeland,  proclaimed the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The ultimate goal of the  Karabakh people's struggle for freedom was, and still is  reunification with their homeland. The civil initiative "Hayakve" was  created in defense of this vital idea. We declare that  Nagorno-Karabakh is our homeland, it must be Armenian, and we will  continue the consistent struggle for its revival. The organized  surrender of Nagorno- Karabakh to Azerbaijan is the greatest crime  against the Armenian people, this must be properly assessed  politically and legally following the change of power in Armenia,"  the initiative's statement says.
