ArmInfo. The proclamation of the Republic of Artsakh has become one of the important milestones of our national liberation movement. This is mentioned in the statement of the civil initiative "We are".
"Having endured wars, the Armenians of Artsakh have overcome immense hardships, fierce battles, sieges, and starvation. Yet, through creative work, extraordinary efforts, and the support of Armenia and the Diaspora, they were able to build a state with democratic aspirations. Thirty-three years ago, Artsakh established its security guarantees against terrorism and repeatedly rose from the ruins. During this time, churches were destroyed, homes looted, and sanctuaries desecrated, but Artsakh rose again from the ashes. However, Azerbaijan's repeated aggressions, the inadequacies of the Armenian authorities, and the indifference of the international community have brought the people living in their homeland to a point of no return," the statement runs.
"It is disheartening to state that the Armenians of Artsakh, who have now reached the age of Christ, are deprived of their homeland, have had their rights violated, and have seen their soldiers captured and held hostage by the enemy and previous authorities. Artsakh, once a symbol of national unity, is now being conspiratorially reduced to a memory of the past. The inalienable right of the Artsakh Armenians to live in their homeland, where they have resided for thousands of years, has been violated before the eyes of the civilized world," "We Are" further emphasized "On this symbolic day, the "We Are" civil initiative reminds the Armenian authorities, the OSCE Minsk Group, international organizations, and human rights institutions that, despite Azerbaijan's efforts, the issue of Artsakh remains unresolved, still on the agenda and in need of a just assessment.
The "We Are" civil initiative pays tribute to the sacred memory of the martyrs who have shed their blood and sacrificed their names on the altar of Artsakh statehood. We stand and declare our indomitable spirit. No matter how wounded our hearts are or how unsteady the path of struggle may be, our minds remain vigilant, and our will is unbreakable. As long as we exist and as long as our brothers and sisters in Armenia and the Diaspora stand with us, Artsakh will live. As long as we fight, the light of hope will not fade. As long as we remember, no one will be forgotten," the initiative concluded.
