Moscow ready to discuss Artsakh Armenians`right to return, Yerevan  indifferent - opposition MP

ArmInfo.Secretary of the With Honor faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Tigran Abrahamyan  believes that Moscow is hinting that it will not be against holding discussions on the issue of the right of the people of Artsakh to safely return to their homes, but does not see a corresponding desire  on the Armenian side.

On August 28, at a weekly briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry  Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the trilateral agreements  between the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, which were  reached between 2020 and 2022, continue to form the basis of  Armenian-Azerbaijani reconciliation. "Attempts to question them are  extremely dangerous," she noted. Answering a journalist's question  about "how Moscow sees the solution to the issue of the return of the  Armenian population to their historical homeland, Nagorno- Karabakh,"  Zakharova wondered about "how does Armenian Prime Minister Nikol  Vovayevich Pashinyan see it?" "If there is some kind of program drawn  up by the Prime Minister of Armenia, I would also be happy to look at  it and then I would comment. Why are you asking a representative of  another state about how we saw it? We (Russia) are encouraging the  parties to resolve this issue, but as you understand, without  implementing the agreements that were reached, it is quite difficult  to do this," said the official representative of the Russian Foreign  Ministry.

<In the process of regulating Armenian-Azerbaijani relations,  official Moscow constantly refers to the trilateral statement of  November 9, 2020. And no matter how the RA government avoids this  topic, through a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, they  (Moscow) claim that if the RA had refused the document or withdrawn  its signature, they would have made at least a public statement about  it>, Tigran Abrahamyan writes on his social network page. 

The deputy  draws attention to <another circumstance that few people  talk about>.  Considering the trilateral declaration to be valid or  relevant, the Russian Federation considers the provisions of this  document concerning the right of return of the residents of Artsakh,  guarantees of their security, ensuring a safe corridor between  Armenia and Artsakh, etc. to be agenda items.  Moreover, the Russian  Federation hints that they are not at all against negotiations on  these issues, but there is no reaction, position or, more simply,  movement from the RA on the above-mentioned topic. There are  situations when escaping from reality and truth is simply  impossible," he sums up.
