ArmInfo. The financial assistance program for the families of persons missing as a result of the military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan in September 2020 or taken captive will be extended for another two months. The decision to this effect was made at a meeting of the RA government on August 15.
The justification for the project notes that the Cabinet's decision is aimed at ensuring the continuity of social support for the aforementioned families. Within the framework of the program, each family has the right to receive financial assistance in the amount of 300 thousand drams per month. In order to receive this amount, citizens had to submit an application electronically by June 15, 2024, but to this day there are still civilians missing in action, as well as captured prisoners, whose families need ongoing support.
In order to solve the existing problems, it is proposed to adopt the submitted project, according to which the families of missing persons, as well as captured persons, will receive social support for another 2 months (July and August 2024) in the amount of 300 thousand drams per month, the application for which can be submitted until August 20, 2024. If the draft decision is adopted, according to the preliminary forecast and information available to the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, support should be provided to the families of 11 missing persons. Thus, the total amount of budgetary allocations will amount to 6.6 million drams.
