ArmInfo. Russia deliberately does not involve its CSTO allies in its conflict with Ukraine. Russian Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov wrote about this on social networks. The politician recalled that Russia is the main military-political force of the Collective Security Treaty
Organization (CSTO).
"Our allies know that in difficult times we will not leave them in trouble. An example of this is the events of January 2022 in Almaty.
Our country, together with its CSTO allies, came to the aid of the legitimate leadership of Kazakhstan in repelling the attack of international terrorists within a few hours.
I am confident that if Russia is threatened by an existential danger and we turn to our allies for help, they will come to our aid. We are deliberately not involving our allies in our conflict with Ukraine. Russia can handle it quite well ... on its own, and this will only
strengthen its authority in the CSTO," the senator wrote.
Armenia has not participated in CSTO events for the second year. Moreover, it has also stopped fulfilling its financial obligations to the Organization. The Armenian authorities justified this by the fact that the CSTO did not come to the aid of Armenia in the fall of 2022, when Azerbaijan committed aggression on its borders. The Armenian Prime Minister did not rule out a complete withdrawal from this military alliance in the future.
