ArmInfo. Armenian students successfully performed at the 31st International Mathematics Competition, held in the Bulgarian city of Blagoevgrad from August 5 to 11. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia (MECS RA).
As reported by the MECS, the Armenian team won 4 gold and one silver medal. The winners of the gold medal were Vahagn Hovhannisyan, Hayk Karapetyan, Arman Fakhradyan and Ruben Hambardzumyan, representing Yerevan State University. Hamlet Petrosyan won the silver medal. In the team competition, Yerevan State University took the honorable 8th place. It is noteworthy that two of the 10 problems presented at the Olympiad were composed and put forward by Tigran Akopyan and Karen Keryan.
We will add that teams from 78 universities around the world took part in the international student Olympiad in mathematics.
