ArmInfo. The Armenian city of  Goris and the Iranian city of Kashan may become sister cities. The  head of the Goris city administration, Arush Arushanyan, announced  this in a conversation with journalists the day before. 

According to him, there is an agreement on this issue with the  Iranian consul. "I think we will succeed in cooperation. This will  contribute to the growth of contacts between the two peoples,  following the example of the French city of Vienne. We noticed that  after Goris and Vienne became sister cities, the number of tourists  from France increased significantly. We hope that the same will  happen with the Iranian city of Kashan, and we will have even more  guests from Iran in Goris," Arush Arushanyan said. 

According to the data of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of  Armenia, 237,603 tourists visited Armenia in July of this year  compared to 255,706 in the same period last year. From January to  July 2024, the largest number of tourist visits to Armenia were  registered from Russia (42%), Georgia (13%) and Iran (8%).
