ArmInfo. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia (MESC) together with the Foundation for Science and Technology (FAST) intend to expand the experimental program "Generation of Artificial Intelligence", which was implemented last year in 22 high schools of Armenia (15 in Yerevan, 7 in the regions).
This became known following a meeting between the head of the MESC Zhanna Andreasyan and the director of the FAST Foundation Armen Orujyan. Thanks to this program, about 400 students have access to free in-depth training in mathematics and the Python programming language. In addition, the program is aimed at filling the shortage of specialists in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the parties discussed the possibilities of expanding the program and further cooperation.
Andreasyan, however, noted that in the context of promoting this program there are certain challenges, in particular related to the technical equipment of schools and the training of teachers.
"We are ready to continue cooperation and work together to expand the program. With the development of technological and mathematical education, completely new tools and conditions are being created that contribute to improving the quality of education in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) areas, which is a strategic direction for us," the minister said.
Following the meeting, the parties are ready to join forces to expand the program and involve new schools
