Opposition Armenian MP holds meetings in Belgium

ArmInfo. Deputy of the Armenian Parliament from the opposition faction "Armenia" (Hayastan), Dashnaktsakan Ishkhan Saghatelyan, together with the President of the  European office of the ARF "Hay Dat" Gaspar Karapetyan, held  negotiations with the Chairman of the Committee on International  Relations of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium Els Van Hoff,  Deputy Secretary General of the Party of European Socialists Janek  Pauly and the leader of the largest French- speaking party in Belgium  - MR Gaitan van Heudznhoven.

As Saghatelyan himself reported on his Facebook page, the meeting  outlined the imperative of realizing the right of return of Artsakh  Armenians.

The need for international pressure on Azerbaijan and the release of  Armenian prisoners of war and the military-political leadership of  Artsakh was also noted, attention was drawn to the facts of ethnic  cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan in Artsakh, the ongoing  aggression and the policy of threatening the use of force by  Azerbaijan.

Saghatelyan pointed out the importance of demonstrating the objective  attitude of the international community during the COP 29 conference,  which will be held in Baku this fall.

During the meeting, issues related to the internal political  situation in Armenia and repeated cases of political persecution of  opposition figures were also touched upon.

During the meeting with Janek Poley, an exchange of views took place  regarding the rapprochement of cooperation between European  socialists and the ARF in various fields, the development of  inter-party relations, and the promotion of the social democratic  system of political values in Armenia.
