ArmInfo. The issue of Artsakh Armenians was raised at the 11th Summer Conference of European Churches, which is taking place these days in Malaga, Spain.
According to the press service of the Mother See of Echmiadzin, the summer conference brought together representatives of churches - members of the conference and partner organizations. In the context of ongoing wars and military conflicts in Europe, the conference developed the project "Paths to Peace", thereby providing a platform for dialogue and cooperation between the member churches of the CEC, as well as for discussing the problems caused by wars in the region, establishing peace through justice and freedom , protection of fundamental human rights and freedom of religion, protection of the rights and cultural heritage of refugees and forcibly displaced peoples.
The Armenian Apostolic Church was represented at the event by the head of the department of inter- church relations of the Armenian Apostolic Church Garegin Ambartsumyan, who in his speech raised issues related to the destruction by the Azerbaijani authorities of the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh, the protection of holy places and the restoration of the fundamental rights of Armenians forcibly resettled from Artsakh.
The conference, which will last until July 10, is dedicated to the protection of human rights; it is held under the slogan "Security, financial, political and legal protection of places of worship and cultural heritage."
