ArmInfo.Yerevan highly appreciates the support that Washington provides to the development  of the Armenian economy. RA President Vahagn Khachaturian stated this yesterday when visiting the American Embassy on the eve of US Independence Day.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated Ambassador Kvien, the  U.S. Embassy staff, and all Americans on the occasion of the 248th  Independence Day of the United States. 

The Ambassador thanked the president for his warm wishes, and  reaffirmed support for our shared democratic values and the strong  partnership between our nations.

The President, as reported by the press service of the head of state,  attached particular importance to the assistance provided by the  United States to the process of democratic reforms in Armenia. He  welcomed the decision taken a few days ago to establish strategic  partnership relations between the two states. "I think the United  States will continue its responsible mission, which is designed to  defend democracy and spread democratic values," Khachaturian noted.

US Ambassador Kvien,, in turn, noted that enormous progress has been  made in bilateral relations between Armenia and the United States in  recent years. "You have contributed and actively participated in all  of this, including your very important recent visit to California and  the west coast of the United States. I would like to thank you, the  government of RA and the people of Armenia for deepening our  relations," said Christina Queen, expressing hope that next year  there will be an opportunity to talk about more progress.
