ArmInfo.Russia's supplies of military products to foreign countries are carried out taking into account the needs of the Special Military Operation (SMO). Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated during a briefing on June 19, in response to a request to comment on reports in the Russian segment of social networks that Moscow may completely abandon military-technical cooperation with Armenia, against the backdrop of Yerevan's current policy.
Zakharova advised contacting the relevant Russian departments on the issue of military product deliveries to obtain more accurate information, in particular, the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation.
"What I wanted to note. The supply of military products to foreign countries is carried out taking into account the needs of the Special Military Operation. Our leadership has repeatedly spoken about this. The existing restrictions on certain types of weapons and military equipment concern military-technical cooperation not only with Armenia, but also with our other partners," Zakharova noted. "As for military-technical contacts with Armenia, we are not abandoning them. They are conducted on a regular basis, and we have not seen any complaints from that side," the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry summarized.
On June 18, after reports of a new defense contract between Armenia and France, a number of Russian Telegram channels, citing their own sources, wrote that Russia may refuse any negotiations with Armenia on the supply of weapons and military equipment as "Moscow's most effective response to Yerevan's anti- Russian activity." "This issue has already been resolved, there simply won't be any negotiations about any supplies. Let them buy what they want from France, Britain, the US, and other countries of the collective West, that's all," informed sources explain, adding that the corresponding decision "has already been agreed upon at the very top leadership."
