ArmInfo. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will be in Almaty on June 20-21, where he will take part in a meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced this on June 19 during a briefing, adding that the meeting will be chaired by Kazakhstan.
According to her, the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states will exchange views on the state of the international and regional situation, sum up the results of diverse cooperation within the Organization and discuss mechanisms for strengthening foreign policy coordination. "It is naturally expected that the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers will approve a number of draft decisions that are submitted for approval by the collective security council during the regular session on November 28 of this year," Zakharova added.
Armenia most likely will not take part in the meeting, taking into account the fact that earlier official Yerevan announced the freeze of its membership in the Organization. The Armenian Foreign Ministry did not respond to ArmInfo's request on this matter at the time of publication of the material.
