ArmInfo.The mayor of Stepanakert David Sargsyan was placed under house arrest for two months. The corresponding decision was made late yesterday evening by Judge Masis Melkonyan.
As reported by lawyer Ruben Melikyan, at the court hearing held on June 13, he fully satisfied the investigator's motion and applied a preventive measure in the form of house arrest to the mayor of Stepanakert.
Sargsyan was arrested for 20 days on May 27. He is charged under paragraph 3 of part 3 of article 255 and part 2 of article 457 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia in the case of theft of especially large property and forgery of documents. The defense considers the case against the mayor of Stepanakert to be politicized.
