ArmInfo. On the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh, the clerical-feudal elite of Armenia misled the people of Armenia in order to seize and retain power. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated this on June 13 from the rostrum of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
According to him, the concepts of "self-determination" and "status" of Nagorno-Karabakh were misunderstood and perceived among the Armenians. As an example, Pashinyan read out a statement by the OSCE Chairman-in-Office following the 1996 summit in Lisbon.
"Then no progress was made to resolve the Karabakh conflict. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group proposed three principles that were to become part of the Karabakh settlement. We are talking about such principles as the territorial integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the legal status of Nagorno-Karabakh, reflected in the founding on a self- determination agreement that will give Nagorno-Karabakh self-government to the highest degree within Azerbaijan and ensure the security of Nagorno-Karabakh and its entire population, including the mutual obligation of the parties to guarantee compliance with the principles of the settlement. I regret that one of the countries - Armenia - has not accepted these principles." - said the head of the Armenian government.
Pashinyan emphasized that both status and self-determination meant that Nagorno-Karabakh should be part of Azerbaijan.
The first President of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, also got it from Pashinyan. The prime minister noted that after the latter's statements after 2020, Pashinyan's ideas about the first president's article "War or Peace? Time to become more serious" changed. "The statements of the last period, Levon Ter-Petrosyan's attempts to unite the clerical-feudal elite, as well as a number of statements show that this article was in fact not a failed attempt to resist the clerical-feudal deception, but an integral part of this deception. Why? Because Ter- Petrosyan and the Armenian National Congress say that they did not mean that the territories should be returned, that they did not say that the independence of Nagorno- Karabakh is impossible. This is an obvious and unambiguous part of the clerical-feudal deception," Pashinyan concluded.
