ArmInfo. The opposition in Armenia itself does not raise the issue of the resignation of the government and the prime minister. Head of the Armenian government Nikol Pashinyan told journalists on June 12.
He mentioned that the opposition only submitted a draft appeal, but none of them were present when this issue was discussed in the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
Answering the question about the possibility of holding an extraordinary session of parliament by force on the issue of the resignation of the country's authorities, the prime minister noted that he tries not to delve into internal issues related to the activities of the National Assembly.
Pashinyan emphasized that if the Armenian people want a change of power, they will carry out that change.
As for the actions of law enforcement officers against demonstrators, the prime minister noted that the police must fulfill the functions imposed on them. "Any state body in Armenia must fulfill the functions imposed on it by law," Pashinyan said, adding that the police must ensure the normal functioning of parliament and the safety of citizens, including those participating in peaceful protests.
