MP calls on opposition to give up "self-deception"

ArmInfo.Organizing an extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly of Armenia is the responsibility of the ruling faction represented by the Civil Contract party.  Secretary of the opposition faction "Armenia" Artsvik Minasyan stated this on June 11 from the rostrum of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

A day earlier, the NA Council rejected the initiative of the  opposition factions "Armenia" and "I Have the Honor" to hold an  extraordinary meeting on June 11, at which, as expected, the issue of  the resignation of the RA government was to be discussed.

The deputy promised his colleagues from the ruling faction to send  them the text of the Constitution and the decision of the  Constitutional Court on the issue of holding an extraordinary meeting  of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, so that the  ruling force could familiarize itself in detail with the provisions  of both the Basic Law and the decisions of the Constitutional Court  of the Republic of Armenia.  "By your behavior, you are not only  avoiding such a development of events, but you are also afraid to  discuss the issues that are recorded in the draft message of the  National Assembly. Nevertheless, we intend to hold an extraordinary  meeting, and I would like to receive counter-arguments from you to  our accusations," the parliamentarian emphasized. adding that for the  first time in the history of the National Assembly, the opposition  presented a draft message, which by its nature is a political  document. 

In turn, Vahagn Aleksanyan, a deputy from the ruling Civil Contract  faction, noted that since 2019 the opposition has constantly raised  the issue of the resignation of the government and Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan, which the ruling force does not share. "You brought  with you 400-500 people who gathered in front of the parliament  building, and now you are trying to convince everyone that your steps  can lead to the result you want. Maybe stop deceiving yourself. You  even accuse us of organizing floods in the north country, turning us  into Poseidon. But if we are really Poseidons, then how do you want  to force us to accept your demand? But we do not accept these  demands, and stop engaging in self-deception," said the deputy from  the ruling force.
