ArmInfo. There is no discussion around the peace treaty, there is an imperative demand of the Azerbaijani side, coercion and threat. Such assessments were voiced by Bagrat Srbazan, leader of the Tavush for the Motherland movement, answering media representatives question about the statement of the RA FM that a peace agreement can be signed within a month.
"Against such a background, how do you imagine the conclusion of a peace agreement, what will its content be? At what price? We cannot even solve the issue of border demarcation and demarcation with unified maps. And this is not delimitation and demarcation, but simply the surrender of territories. What do we get instead of what? Nothing!" he complained. In this context, Srbazan recalled the statement of the head of the Armenian government, who said that by ceding territories, we are reducing risks. "Please note that we have not eliminated the risks, but reduced them. That is, in simple terms, instead of 10 shots, there will be 4? We are in an absurd situation," the leader of the Movement added. In this regard, Srbazan noted that he does not understand on what grounds Ararat Mirzoyan (head of the RA MFA) makes such statements. "And it is very interesting to know what the content of the peace agreement will be?" he said. The head of the Movement also recalled the repeated statements of the Azerbaijani president that all processes around the peace agreement should take place in accordance with their agenda. "Which is what is happening," he said.
After the statement of the Azerbaijani president that the peace agreement would be signed only if Armenia amended the Constitution, the RA MFA issued the following statement: " The Republic of Armenia does not have any territorial claims toward any of its neighbors, including Azerbaijan. The Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and the amendments to it are internal affairs of Armenia, and we consider the attempts by official Baku to intervene in the internal discussions in Armenia as a gross intervention into the internal affairs of the country. At the same time, we believe that such rhetoric torpedoes the peace process and casts doubts on the sincerity of the leadership of Azerbaijan to achieve peace." The RA MFA also noted, "The peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is ripe enough for signing, and the Armenian side expresses its willingness to work constructively and intensively to complete and sign it within the next month."
