ArmInfo. The Republic of Armenia has received rights to another property. RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan announced at a government meeting on June 6.
According to her, the building in question is located at 36/3 Koghbatsi Street, with a total area of ??235.8 sq.m. Despite the fact that the rights are preliminary, the RA government has the right to carry out the necessary construction and repair work in this building. Within the next week, the relevant act will be submitted to the Prime Minister's Office to organize the management of the building. After resolving all technical issues related to the presence of previous tenants in the building, the government will be able to transfer it to trust management for a period of five years and with the right to extend it for another five years. In this case, we are talking about a franchise agreement. Notably, this building is associated with former Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia Hasmik Poghosyan. On October 18, 2023, the prosecutor's office transferred to the Anti-Corruption Court a case against Poghosyan related to violations in the privatization of the Tchaikovsky School site. According to the supervisory authority, H.P., who held the position of Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia in 2012-2016, using her official powers to the detriment of state interests, assisted the founders and director of Sohocenter LLC, the former Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Israel A.S. (Armen Smbatyan - ed. note) in the fraudulent appropriation of an area of ??about 300 square meters, separated from the land plot, transferred free of charge to the Yerevan Secondary Specialized Music School named after P. Tchaikovsky State Non-Commercial Organization (SNCO) at the address: Yerevan, Koghbatsi Street, 36/3. As a result, the state suffered particularly large financical damage in the amount of 100 million drams. On December 22, 2021, Hasmik Poghosyan was put on the wanted list and arrested in absentia "in the ASCC case"( Armenian Society for Cultural Cooperation ), in which former Armenian Ambassador to Israel Armen Smbatyan also involved. In early October 2023, the ASCC building in the center of Yerevan was returned to the state as a result of a settlement agreement between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia and the shareholders of the ASCC NGO.
