ArmInfo. The building, which previously housed the Armenian Society for Cultural Cooperation with Foreign Countries (ASCC), will be transferred to trust management. The decision on this was made at a meeting of the RA government on June 6.
According to the RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan, the building is currently on the balance sheet of the State Property Management Committee. The Minister recalled the case that was considered by the Administrative Court of Armenia, during which a settlement agreement was concluded. In accordance with this document, the entire property complex of the building was returned to the Republic of Armenia.
The building will be transferred at a rental price of 15.4 million drams for a period of 10 years. The name of the tenant will be known based on the results of the tender. Taking into account the status of the building, which has cultural and historical significance, in the draft lease agreement, this fact will be recorded. The investor will have to submit an investment program, 90% of which will be rent and 10% investments.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, pointing to the cultural and historical significance of the building, noted the need for effective management of it. The prime minister noted that the authorities do not place restrictions on the intended use of the building, which can have a store and a cafe, but it is important that the cultural and historical appearance of the building is preserved.
RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan noted that a professional examination should be carried out regarding the external appearance of the building in order to be sure of its preservation.
The building was previously privatized using a gray scheme: first, the house was registered on the balance sheet of a fictitious public organization, and it was handed over to an offshore company. After the initiation of a criminal case, the owners of the building agreed to return the building to the state.
