ArmInfo.The Tourism Federation announced the start of cooperation with the National Center of Folk Music and Dance. The corresponding agreement was signed between the Chairman of the Federation Mekhak Apresyan and the head of the National Center Armen Sargsyan.
As it was stated on June 3 during a press conference, within the framework of cooperation it is envisaged that the tour packages will include concert programs of the National Center, which will contribute to the popularization and internationalization of Armenian folk art.
Armen Sarkissian said that this year work is already underway to prepare events for 2025, which is necessary to prepare tour packages. In total, according to him, 60 events are being prepared, including festivals, anniversary evenings, etc.
Apresyan, in turn, emphasized that one of the most important tasks facing the domestic tourism industry today is to effectively use the available resource. <Today we use only 10-20% of the potential we have. Therefore, it is necessary to do everything to turn this resource into a product and realize it, which will have both an economic, cultural and social effect," the head of the Federation emphasized.
The National Center for Folk Music and Dance was established on December 14, 2022 in Yerevan. The main and important goal of the organization is to carry out joint cultural activities in the field of folk music and dance, in particular, the preservation and development of traditions of performing arts, the formation and satisfaction of the spiritual needs of society, the provision of valuable artistic results, internationalization, increasing public authority, familiarizing the cultural community with Armenian folk art. The Center includes the State Ensemble of Armenia "Altunyan" (1938), the State Ensemble of Dance of Armenia (1958), the State Orchestra of National Instruments of Armenia (2005), the State Ensemble of Dance "Berekamutyun" (1987), the State Ethnographic Ensemble "Akunk" "(1974).
