


ArmInfo.As a result of a natural disaster on May 25-26, railway tracks in Lori region were damaged in 8 places with a total length of up to 2 kilometers. In addition, 4 electrical substations and electrical centralization equipment at the stations were flooded, 3 engineering structures, as well as power lines of various voltages were damaged, this is stated in the press service of the South Caucasus Railway CJSC.
The source notes that on May 26, the company simultaneously began work to determine the extent of the damage caused and restore destroyed infrastructure. Chaired by Director General of the South Caucasus Railway company , Alexey Melnikov, a road headquarters was established to organize rehabilitation works to eliminate the consequences of infrastructure flooding. The latter, together with invited specialists from the Russian Roszheldorproekt JSC, carries out a detailed examination of all flooded areas, determining the scope, technology of work and the amount of materials required to restore the infrastructure.
Electrical substations are currently being dried out and power supply and communications are being restored at damaged stations. Together with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, temporary schemes for the operation of the railway are being developed.
