On May 27, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received a message that on the same day, at the intersection of Abovyan-Sayat-Nova streets in Yerevan, during an action of disobedience carried out by the Tavush for the Motherland movement, one of its participants used tear gas against them, preventing them from official activities. This is stated in the message of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
The man in question was taken to the police station, where, according to the law, he was searched and a tear gas canister with the inscription "Shock" was found. As a result of the necessary measures taken, the identity of the specified citizen, a 54-year-old resident of the city of Yerevan, was established. Based on this incident, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia opened a criminal case on the grounds of Part 3, Art. 452 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
The person in question was arrested on the basis of reasonable suspicion of using violence against police officers.
