ArmInfo. The Armenian society and the Armenian leadership did not have any harsh reaction to the statements of the President of Belarus made during his visit to Azerbaijan, Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Alexander Konyuk stated on the sidelines of an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armavir border detachment, referring to the resonant statements made by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko during his visit to Azerbaijan.
"The statement was not taken very seriously. As I understand it, the Armenian leadership also understands that any country has the right to do what it considers necessary, the main thing is not to the detriment of another country. This is the main thing. If you think that there was a harsh reaction in Armenia - I haven't seen this. Also, the Armenian leadership is taking steps that some may not like, but this is their right, this is the sovereign right of any country," Konyuk emphasized.
The ambassador also emphasized that the President of Belarus has the right to do what he sees fit, and his task as a diplomat is to carry out his commands.
Days earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko paid a state visit to Azerbaijan. As part of the visit, he also visited the occupied territories of Artsakh, where he not only offered his services for the "restoration of the region," but also reported how he discussed the war for Nagorno-Karabakh with Aliyev even before it began.
