Stepanakert mayor arrested 

ArmInfo. Ex-mayor of Stepanakert David Sargsyan was arrested for 20 days. Lawyer Ruben Melikyan  reports this.

According to him, the decision was made by judge Martin Arzumanyan.  "New people have been added to the prisoners of conscience," Melikyan  noted.

On May 25, the RA Investigative Committee announced public criminal  prosecution against four people - former community leader D.S. and  three persons associated with him.   May 26 D.S. was arrested and  charged under Part 3 of Art. 255 and part 2 of Art. 457 of the  Criminal Code of RA.

The remaining three persons were also charged with the same, and a  preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave  the place was chosen as a preventive measure against them.   They are  accused of D.S. by distorting documents in February 2024, he  illegally privatized 4 cars belonging to another person, and also  embezzled a large sum of money. As a result, D.S. and persons  associated with him stole large sums of money belonging to another  person totaling 19.1 million drams, as well as cars of the brand  "TOYOTA HILUX", "VAZ 21214", "UAZ 390945-552" <VAZ 212140>. The  criminal investigation continues.
