ArmInfo.Armenia is going through an interesting period in its history, when the authorities are making attempts to strengthen the borders and strengthen the capabilities of the state, but a certain part of the citizens and political forces of the country are preventing this, MP of the dominant Civil Contract faction Khachatur Sukiasyan stated this on May 22.
According to him, in connection with the situation, a reasonable question arises as to whether this is being done deliberately, or whether many citizens simply do not understand their actions and what bad name they will leave in history. "The Republic of Armenia should be a powerful independent state. Bearing in mind the available information, it seems that many of our colleagues and citizens serve the interests of other states. Moreover, some of them serve as a result of treaty obligations, while others do so without realizing the consequences of their actions," the MP said.
He noted that if you look at the country's former leaders and how they led the state, you can draw the appropriate conclusions. "For example, how they treated those people who named one foreign state or had relations with this state. I'll tell you that they treated it very badly: they either ended up in prison or died. Now I warn you: if you don't moderate your measure, and you will interfere with the development of the country, we will use the same tools. In other words, the same tools that you have adopted for 20 years will begin to be used against you," the deputy said, adding that being a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, having sons and grandchildren, will do everything to ensure the development of the Armenian state.
The deputy emphasized that the biggest damage was the invitation of Artsakh residents to opposition rallies, who receive benefits largely thanks to the efforts of the business community. He noted that during the 44-day war, some deliberately surrendered places so that Armenian soldiers would be killed, and the political leadership of Artsakh would lose, so that certain political forces would start a campaign against the Armenian authorities. "On September 29, I was in Nagorno-Karabakh, where in the bunker of the President of Artsakh, the ex-commander of the Defense Army Samvel Babayan expressed these opinions to the then President of the NKR. I am not inventing anything on my own," the deputy said.
In response to this speech, Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition faction "Armenia" Artur Khachatryan reminded Sukiasyan that the measure is determined by law. "Perhaps the measure you are talking about is the cars with barbed wires that have been installed in the courtyard of the parliament since yesterday? Or perhaps the blocking of the village of Kirants, Tavush region, by reinforced police forces? When we ask why the village was closed, the answer follows, that they are carrying out an order that no one has seen. The state is not a voluntaristic organization, it is, first of all, guided by laws.
