Armenia reaffirms commitment to CTBTO

ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Monday met with the Executive Secretary  of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), Robert Floyd, in Vienna.

"Armenia, as a proponent of non-proliferation, is committed to its  obligations under the treaty, and also values the continuity and  increased visibility of effective cooperation that has developed with  the organization to date," Mirzoyan noted.

The interlocutors discussed issues of Armenia's cooperation with the  organization, in particular, in the context of capacity development  projects.

Current challenges as well as regional issues were discussed at the  meeting.

Armenia signed the agreement on October 1, 1996 and ratified it on  July 12, 2006.
