Sayat-Nova statue unveiled in Ashkhabad

ArmInfo.Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Janna Andreasyan participates in the international conference of ministers of culture dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the poet Makhtumkuli Fragi in Ashkhabad , the capital of Turkmenistan.

High-ranking delegations from more than 20 countries and  representatives of international organizations participated in the  opening of the forum.

As part of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the famous Turkmen  poet and thinker Magtimkuli Fragi, a park named after him was opened  in Ashkhabad, where, in addition to the monumental monument of Fragi,  statues of famous world thinkers were placed. In the park, the new  Alley of Classical Poets, the statue of the famous Armenian medieval  poet Sayat-Nova was placed among the statues of Dante Alighieri,  Shota Rustaveli, Honor‚ De Balzac, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Hafez  Shiraz, Fyodor Dostoyevsky and d other statues of world thinkers.

The honor of unveiling the Sayat-Nova statue was reserved for the  Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna  Andreasyan, and the Ambassador of Armenia to Turkmenistan, Ruben  Kharazyan.

Delegates of the international conference dedicated to the 300th  anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fragi were present at the  inauguration of the statue of Sayat-Nova.

During her visit, Minister Andreasyan held a number of meetings with  sectoral ministers of Turkmenistan, in particular with the Minister  of Culture Atageldy Shamuradov, with whom they discussed a number of  issues aimed at improving bilateral cooperation, touched upon the  restoration of the Armenian church in Turkmenistan and the mausoleum  of Turkmen emirs in Armenia. Andreasyan also met with Education  Minister Bayramgul Orazdurdaeva. The parties discussed the  possibilities of implementing scholarship programs in the field of  higher education, as well as an exchange program for students and  teachers. The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan also noted that  she is interested in Armenia's experience in the development of  education, in particular, the activities of TUMO centers and the  introduction of a dual system in the field of vocational education.

The head of the Armenian Ministry of Education and Science also met  with the Chairman of the State Committee for Physical Education and  Sports Allaberdy Saparov, with whom they discussed the prospects for  the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of sports.
