ArmInfo. It is very important that medical workers feel protected in Armenia. Leader of the "Tavush For the Motherland" movement, Primate of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan stated on May 17 at a meeting with representatives of the medical community.
According to him, very often among medical workers it is said that the country's medical system is weak and requires serious attention, but at the same time they forget about the huge potential that should be used. Moreover, there are all the possibilities for this: financial, mental, and professional. "However, unfortunately, we continue to be considered a below-average country. A small foundation, of which I am the chairman of the board of trustees, managed to implement the "City of Smile" project. Thanks to this independent foundation, established by a group of doctors in 2014, people from all over the world come to Yerevan hematology center for treatment. People come here because there are serious professional achievements in this center," the archbishop said.
He continued that if such a small fund can be done, then why not, the same thing can be done at the state level. There is a ministry, an agency, a National Institute, but there is no movement forward. "After all, it is possible to establish centers in various regions of the country, where medical services will be accessible and of high quality, and for that it is necessary to work in all areas, open the doors of the world's best universities while increasing the level of domestic university education. There are opportunities for that," Galstanyan said.
