ArmInfo. On May 16, participants in the "Tavush for the Motherland" movement again held protests. They gathered in front of the RA Government building, where the Cabinet meeting will begin at 11:00.
At the call of the leader of the movement, the head of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, citizens are gathering in front of the government building to protest the authorities' policy of unilateral concessions in the delimitation and demarcation of borders with Azerbaijan. The Cabinet building is cordoned off by numerous police forces. Their actions are led by the Deputy Chief of the RA Police. Traffic on a number of streets adjacent to Republic Square, including Melik-Adamyan Street, is blocked. Here are also the mothers of dead and missing soldiers who took part in protests with photographs of their sons.
The reason for the rallies was the decision to delimitate the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which the countries adopted at the end of April. The leader of the protest movement, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, said that he would seek the resignation of the Prime Minister, including through impeachment in parliament.
