ArmInfo.One of the activists who blocked the Yerevan-Meghri highway and, according to investigators, used violence against a police officer, was detained.
According to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, as part of the ongoing protests, on May 10, at about 11:10, a group of people blocked the Meghri-Yerevan interstate highway near the village of Malishka, Vayots Dzor region.
Police officers ensuring public order presented the protesters with a legal demand to open the road and restore traffic.
However, one of the protesters, in order to prevent the official's lawful activities, used violence against one of the police officers, hitting him on the head with his fist.
A criminal case has been initiated in this case under Part 3 of Article 452 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
The specified participant in the action was detained on reasonable suspicion that he had apparently committed a criminal act.
In order to clarify the circumstances of the case and give a legal assessment of the actions of the specified person, a preliminary investigation is carried out.
