ArmInfo. The meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan has not yet been determined by date due to the lack of response from Armenia to this proposal. As Gazeta RU writes, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alibek Bakayev stated.
According to him, Yerevan and Baku are not administered by him, but, as far as he knows, the date for the meeting of the two sides has not been determined at the moment. Bakayev added that Armenia has not yet given its consent to participate. The deputy minister expressed hope that negotiations will take place. According to him, it was no coincidence that Kazakhstan offered Yerevan and Baku to be a platform for these negotiations; its mediating role in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh problem has been known since the 1990s.
According to the source, before this, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, said that Baku was in favor of direct, bilateral negotiations with Yerevan on a peace treaty. As of April 29, Azerbaijan and Armenia have completed more than half of the work related to clarifying the coordinates on the border of the two states.
