ArmInfo.A contract soldier participating in mine clearance in Tavush was left without a foot as a result of a mine explosion.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 25, in the territory of the village of Berkaber, where today the Armenian authorities are in a hurry to carry out the so-called delimitation work for the unilateral transfer of the territories of the Republic of Armenia to Azerbaijan. The serviceman was left without his right foot. He is hospitalized in Yerevan.
As reported by the Tavush for the Motherland movement, contract soldier G. Mardanyan, born in 1980, was wounded as a result of a mine explosion in the Kirants-Berkaber section.
The Armenian Ministry of Defense confirmed the incident and reported that the soldier's condition was assessed by doctors as satisfactory.
