"Based on geodetic measurements, as part of the work to clarify the coordinates on the border between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, 20 border pillars were installed as of April 25, 2024. The work of expert groups of the two states continues.
As previously reported, by the agreements that were reached following the 8th meeting of the Commission of the Republic of Armenia on the delimitation of the state border and border security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the delimitation of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, expert groups of two countries on the border of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan began the process of clarifying coordinates based on geodetic measurements on the ground", the message says.
On April 19, the commissions for the delimitation of the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed as follows: At the initial stage of the delimitation process, the Parties have preliminary agreed upon separate sections of the borderline immediately between the settlements of Baghanis (Republic of Armenia) - Baghanis Ayrum (Republic of Azerbaijan), Voskepar (Republic of Armenia) - Ashaghi Askipara (Republic of Azerbaijan), Kirants (Republic of Armenia) - Kheyrimli (Republic of Azerbaijan) and Berkaber (Republic of Armenia) - Ghizilhajili (Republic of Azerbaijan), in order to bring them into compliance with the legally justified interrepublican border that existed within the Soviet Union at the moment of its dissolution.
