ArmInfo. No changes are planned on the Armenia-Azerbaijan contact line today. This is stated in the message of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia in response to information disseminated on social networks and the media.
According to the press service of the National Security Service, the Baghanis-Voskepar highway is currently closed in order to ensure ongoing demining work in the adjacent territory, preventing citizens from entering mined areas in order to ensure the safety of the latter.
At the same time, the Service noted that today it is planned to carry out border delimitation work in the Baghanis-Voskepar section. "We also inform you that the allegations about the transfer of part of the sovereign territory of Armenia to Azerbaijan do not correspond to reality. We emphasize that no changes are planned on the Armenia-Azerbaijan contact line today. After the delimitation of the border, border security will be transferred to the RA border troops," the message says.
On April 19, the Armenian Foreign Ministry, following the results of the eighth meeting of state commissions, announced that Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to begin delimitation from the Tavush region and by July 1 to complete the approval of the draft regulations on the joint activities of delimitation commissions. Since the evening of the same day, residents of the border villages of Tavush, dissatisfied with the agreements between Yerevan and Baku, have been holding protests on the Armenia-Georgia interstate road.
