ArmInfo. Armenia will join the international "Garden of Memory" campaign for the fourth year in a row.
According to a message received by ArmInfo, the event will be held on the Alley of Border Glory of Russia in Victory Park in Yerevan at 16:00, where honored guests, students, volunteers and city residents will plant trees in memory of those who fell on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War.
The action in Yerevan is once again becoming possible thanks to the Foundation for the Development and Support of Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Initiatives "Heritage and Progress" with the assistance of the Yerevan City Hall.
In addition to the traditional tree planting, the participants of the Action will also enjoy a performance by the brass band of the Border Directorate of the FSB of Russia and the soloist of the State Academic Choir of Armenia, performer of military-patriotic songs Artur Agadazhanov.
The international event "Garden of Memory" was held for the first time in 2020. Its goal is to perpetuate the memory of everyone who died during the Great Patriotic War. Over 27 million trees are planted every year in memory of the 27 million people who died. The action is taking place on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who planted his memory tree at the Rzhev Memorial. In the first three years, more than 5 million people from all 85 regions of Russia and more than 50 countries of the near and far abroad joined the Action, who together planted over 100 million trees.
The organizers of the Action in Russia are the ANO "Garden of Memory", the All-Russian public movement "Volunteers of Victory" and the Foundation for the Memory of Victory Commanders with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Federal Forestry Agency within the framework of the national project "Ecology".
