ArmInfo. There is masked gang in Armenia, which allows itself to brutally beat a citizen under the protection of the police, taking him out of a police car. We are talking about what happened to Samvel Vardanyan, a participant in yesterday's incident in public transport with the participation of Hakob Aslanyan, an MP from the faction of the ruling Civil Contract party. The former head of the parliamentary committee on human rights and public affairs, Taguhi Tovmasyan wrote on her Facebook page.
The MP said that she sent an urgent letter to the RA Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan and is preparing letters to her international partners. "The citizen was detained for hooliganism, for insulting a National Assembly member, after which he was beaten by a group of masked people while he was being taken to the place of detention. From my colleagues and lawyers who met the citizen, I learned that the police car was stopped at about 300 meters from the office of the RA Investigative Committee, under the pretext of the natural needs of the police, the citizen was left alone in the police car. Suddenly, several people in masks (I don't know whether they were policemen or citizens) immediately took the citizen out of the car and began to brutally beat and threaten him," Tovmasyan said. . She said that in order to clarify the fact of an attack by masked persons on a citizen subordinate to the police in "democratic" Armenia, she addressed several questions to the Minister of Internal Affairs, in particular, who and under what circumstances beat citizen Samvel Vardanyan? Why did the accompanying police allow this to happen? Has the police provided a report on the conditions under which the citizen under their protection was injured? What steps have been taken? What is the criminal legal assessment of what happened?
"I suggested that the minister go to the police together and find out the details of the incident on the ground," the MPemphasized.
Citizen Samvel Vardanyan was detained on suspicion of hooliganism after an altercation with an MP from the ruling Civil Contract faction Hakob Aslanyan. This became known from the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia. Video footage of the incident in one of the city buses shows that a citizen sitting on the bus, recognizing Aslanyan, known for his odious statements, threw "Anti-Armenian scoundrel" in his face.
These words aroused the anger of the MP, who rudely demanded to give him the way, and then attacked the young man with his fists and knocked the phone out of his hands. Later it became known that in connection with this incident only Samvel Vardanyan was detained.
